The Carolina Raptor Center is home to dozens of injured birds that are too sick to ever make it in the wild again. However, in addition to housing these sick birds, they also successfully rehabilitate many more, and release them back into their natural environs.

This is just one lucky shot I got today while trying out my new 1.7 TC. I was a good three feet from the chain link fence, so it was rather difficult focusing through it, but I managed to frame up this American Bald Eagle (one of the permanent residents) with the Stars and Stripes displayed about twenty feet behind it.

Enjoy, I will be posting a few hawks and a kestrel later on.
